They must think it’s an option

After introducing the CLG concept to the City of West Des Moines before Christmas, I now report that the council must believe CLG is a good idea. Why do I think that? Because it’s moved out of committee. The city is holding a public information meeting in June. Mark your calendars now to learn the who, what, where, why and how behind what I think would be good a thing.

You are invited to a public outreach meeting about the Certified Local Government (CLG) Program.  At this meeting Paula Mohr from the State Historic Preservation Office will provide an overview of the program including the objectives and requirements of a local historic preservation program for the City of West Des Moines.DATE:             Tuesday, June 5, 2012

TIME:              5:30 – 7 pm

PLACE:           Historic City Hall, 137 5th Street, West Des Moines

After the presentation, there will be a question and answer session and general discussion with residents, business owners, and city officials about this program and if it would be a value to the community.
